Who are we and why choose us?
Established in 1994 by Ian Hackwell Stairlifts Southwest (SSW) is a family business now managed by another member of the family, Michael Coker. Originally based on the North Cornish coast, near Bude, and now with new premises near Liskeard, Stairlifts Southwest have engineers covering all the main towns throughout the South West of England.
Stairlifts Southwest have been installing stairlifts for over sixteen years and have built up an excellent relationship with all of their customers. Our regular client base includes North Cornwall District Council, Plymouth Care and Repair, Bideford Care and Repair and many other small businesses and charities throughout the area.

At Stairlifts Southwest we understand that a stairlift is for the most part a necessity more than a luxury. To ensure you are comfortable and fully informed throughout your prospective purchase SSW will:
- Assess your specific needs and that of your staircase and its immediate surroundings
- Provide you with a written quotation on company headed paper stating the entire cost (you may qualify for VAT exemption, ask one of our team who can advise)
- Give you a deadline for installation and only book at a time and date that best suits you
- Provide you with contact details for all after sales queries including servicing and breakdowns for peace of mind
